This role is designed for surgeons who want to transition into academic medicine while maintaining limited clinical involvement. The position emphasizes teaching, mentorship, and curriculum development within a collaborative academic environment serving students across Idaho and the Mountain West.
Faculty will participate in classroom instruction, small-group facilitation, simulation training, clinical skills education, and student advising. The institution offers modern infrastructure and administrative support to ensure a sustainable academic workload.
Position Highlights:
• 4 days on-campus teaching + 1 day of low-volume clinical work
• 80% teaching — lectures, small groups, simulation, clinical skills, and student advising
• Modern 94,000 sq. ft. academic campus with sim center, anatomy lab & OMM lab
• Competitive compensation ($250–300k) + full academic benefits
• $10k relocation, 240 hours PTO + 320 flex/sick time, $4k CME
