Take over a ready-made HIV practice with a full panel from day one. A retiring physician is handing off about 400 established patients to the next infectious disease physician. The clinic in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania belongs to a community organization that has provided HIV and Ryan White services across Northeastern Pennsylvania since 1985. This role is for an ID physician with HIV experience who wants a focused outpatient practice.
The role:
- Practice 100% outpatient, Monday through Thursday, with no call, no hospital rounding and no weekends
- Inherit a built-in panel of about 400 HIV patients from a retiring physician
- See about 14 patients per day
- Provide HIV care along with PrEP, hepatitis C and STI care
- Work alongside a multidisciplinary Ryan White care team that supports patients beyond the exam room
- AI dictation available
- HIV experience is required
Compensation and benefits:
- $350K base salary

Wilkes-Barre sits in the Wyoming Valley of Northeastern Pennsylvania. It has a low cost of living, friendly neighborhoods and plenty of room to spread out. The Pocono Mountains, Ricketts Glen State Park and many lakes and trails are close by for hiking, skiing and time on the water. Locals catch Penguins hockey and RailRiders baseball and see shows at the Kirby Center. New York City and Philadelphia are each about two hours away, and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport is right in the region. With a four-day week, you’ll have more time to enjoy all of it.
